Hennessy is a brand of cognac produced in the Cognac region of France. It is made from a blend of different Eaux-de-vie (distilled wines) that are aged in oak barrels for a minimum of two years. The blend is made from a combination of different grape varieties, mainly Ugni Blanc, Colombard, and Folle Blanche. Cognac is aged in oak barrels, which gives it its amber colour, rich and complex flavours, and notes of vanilla, toffee, and wood. Hennessey is one of the most popular and well-known cognac brands in the world. It is typically consumed neat or on the rocks, but it can also be used as an ingredient in cocktails. The brand has different expressions such as Hennessy VS, Hennessy VSOP and Hennessy XO, each with a different ageing time and complexity. The alcohol content is usually around 40% ABV (alcohol by volume) or 80 proof.
